How often are my transactions imported?
We import transactions every 6 hours from our data providers. We are only able to import cleared transactions from most banks, so they may take a few days to appear.
If you want real-time imports, please look into using Monzo or Starling with Webhooks.
What are webhooks?
Webhooks are used by Starling and Monzo to integrate with external services such as Sync for YNAB. They send us a notification every time you spend money, which we then record in your YNAB account.
We have no access to your bank account at all. All we can do is process the webhook.
Can I import my full banking history?
We import 7 days of cleared transactions when you create the connection. This is to keep in line with YNAB recommendations around focusing on now and the future.
My transactions are not appearing
When you first connect your account, we will try and import 7 days of transactions. If you have no cleared transactions within that time, we will not import anything historically.
We only process cleared transactions from most banks, so they may take a few days to appear.
There is an error with one of my bank accounts
You may sometimes see an error with one of your accounts. This is not always a problem, and will normally resolve itself the next time we try and sync your account.
These can often just be caused by timeouts or temporary issues with our data provider or your bank. If the error persists, please contact us.
Bank limitations
Some banks have account type restrictions:
- Bank of Scotland: No Savings or Business Accounts
- Danske: No Credit Cards
- Nationwide: No Savings Accounts
- Santander: No Savings Accounts
Do you offer a trial?
Yes, all accounts include a free 7-day trial. You can cancel at any time during or after the trial.
How do I cancel my account?
You can cancel your account at syncforynab.com/cancel. You do not need to login to access this page.
I canceled my YNAB account, why am I still being charged?
Your YNAB and Sync for YNAB accounts are totally separate products. Cancelling one will not cancel the other.
To cancel Sync for YNAB, visit syncforynab.com/cancel.
My YNAB bank account is not listed
After connecting your bank, you need to manually link each bank account to a YNAB account. We cannot create accounts automatically for you in YNAB due to limitations in their API.
To fix this, go to your YNAB budget, select "Add Account", choose "Unlisted", and complete the setup. Then return to Sync for YNAB and refresh the page.
The results from YNAB are cached for around 5 minutes, so it may not update on our end right away.
